So, my birthday is coming up this week and I'm about to start my period so you must pardon me if this post jumps around a bit.
To start with, I won't be sharing the tutorial I mentioned last post...at least not yet. I just got my camera back so I need to remake and shoot it right this time, god only knows how long that will be.
Second, I confess freely that I am a horrible garment maker. I find it really hard to grasp the basics of it and I'm always trying to correct a pattern that has nothing wrong with it ( "There is no way that it needs to be cut like that, what were these well-paid professional pattern drafters thinking, ha ha. I'll just fix it..") And heartache and wasted fabric generally ensues, sigh.
Third, I know summer hasn't even really kicked off yet but I'm already scoping out Martha Stewart's halloween pages. It's a sickness really. (p.s. Has anyone read the manga "Wallflower"? I would be like a grown up Sunako-chan. Except I wear pink, occasionally.)
Fourth, my husband just found it necessary to purchase a motorcycle...yes, ladies a motorcycle. Why, in god's name, would anyone with even the tiniest bit of brains think that such a vehicle is a good idea? I am frustrated that he finds it so easy to take such huge chances with his life when it is completely unnecessary. Funny, I don't think my sewing machine will ever crash at high speeds and kill the sole provider of the family. I do realize that most idiot men go through this ridiculous phase and survive it so I'm crossing my fingers and keeping mostly quiet about it. Oh, yeah and he looks utterly stupid on it too. Whoooo..Hormone spike.... deep breath in, let it out...okay feeling a little better after venting. He does read this blog from time to time but I don't think he has any illusions about how I feel about this, at least he shouldn't if he's paying attention.
Last is My Big Wanty List. It's a list of all things great and small that I desire to have, get rid of, change or do. Some are selfish, some are transient, some are constant.
Here they are in no particular order:

- A Maid- Does anyone like housework?
- New Stove- This one to be precise. In black, naturally.
- Screen printing machine-Those look so cool
- Painting stuff-Always need more
- High chair-Tired of feeding the baby in her exer-saucer
- Bigger house-Need more space for my fabric
- My own Crafting Room-Never need to clean it and the kids are barred from entering
- Dress Form-May help with my horrible garment making...maybe
- Better Skills-Practice makes perfect, but I want it Now!
- Patio furniture- A hammock would be nice, so would some ocean breezes...sigh
- No neighbors- I'm not good at being polite to people who let their dogs crap on my lawn
- Godiva Chocolate-All day, every day.
- To be a size 8- Yeah, like that will ever happen ( see item above)
- Regular exercise-Need to, baby is in the stranger freak out stage
- Baby to sleep through the night- I don't remember what 8 solid hours feels like..
- World peace-Gotta throw in somethin' for the rest of you
- Realistic space travel-Man, I'd love to see Mars and still make it back to earth within a year or less. Ray Bradbury, you cruel man.
- Mouse traps to work as advertised-Damn, I hate those little buggers, If they get into my fabric stash it's going to be WW3 up in this motha-fu&%$!

Hello there, long time no post. Bad blogger, bad. I do have a few things to say in my defense. There was a visit to a newly born baby last week and Mother's Day needed some attention in there and so did a few birthday's being celebrated this Sunday.
I finished up a blanket I made for that sweet little baby, it was lots of felt and my first tied quilt!

Yes, I realize how awful these pics are but that's what you get when you don't remember to take pictures of your projects before you give them away. I really like the moon, had a lot of fun hand sewing her features.
Speaking of Mother's Day, my sweety took me to Lynn's Paradise Cafe on Friday for an early sort of treat and I got flowers delivered later that day so not too shabby for me. Then we had dinner at my in-laws on Sunday and a close friend of ours kept filling up my wine glass and I just can't stand wasting good wine so I had myself a little hangover on Monday, thanks Daniel ;/.
Anyhow, I had shopping to do for aforementioned birthdays on Tuesday and then Wednesday I was crazy dizzy all day and soooo sleepy. I'm thinking I have an iron deficiency going on. I seem to have trouble with that every now and then. So that's how you get to Thursday and me posting these incredible boring details about my life. Whew!
One of the birthday presents is a shirt I painted for my little nephew and I may even get to post a very simple tutorial of it! It is way easy and I'm sure anyone with half a crafty bone in their body would know how to do it but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.
Well, I got me some more birthday things to finish up so I'll be going now. Keep an eye out for that tutorial.

Hi! It's been a little bit huh? Not that I've been doing anything useful with my time off. Nope. Just lazing about, eating chocolate and gaining weight. And taking pictures of my 6 month old sweetie.

I did manage to set up an Etsy but our internet connection has been so flaky lately I haven't been able to post more than one item.
Anyway, I'm only posting now because I'm procrastinating on a blanket for an (as yet) unborn baby. I can't seem to maintain momentum when I get close to the end of something.
On the plus side I've been dreaming all sorts of crafty things. I was wearing an awesome pair of earrings in my last dream and I'm going to try to make them, should be fun! I've been itching to do some pure art too, not practicality just beautiful decadent, hang on the wall art. Something I don't have to satin stitch because it won't be washed anytime soon. Sigh....maybe if I come into some funds I'll get to invest in some of these. Well, duty to unborn babes calls.
p.s. Why is it so hard to photograph rainbows? This one looks terrible zoomed in.

We are on day six of the potty training, so far so good. There have only been two pee accidents and 5 (yes 5) poo accidents..... It's been a day and a half since the last one though so I think we're making progress. Woot!
The internet has been a bit flaky here this weekend. We had a tree taken down and it hit the lines on the way down so I guess it's to be expected. The tree we had cut down was a walnut tree so at least there will be less fuel for the devil squirrels at my house this year. That's one down and two more to go....
I've been bitten by the writing bug. It's been a long time since I just wrote words because they were beautiful or terrible or important or idle. I love alliteration when I write, I can't seem to help myself when I get going on a string of words. Anyway, I've also been in a bit of a funk this week and not the good George Clinton kind. Not really depressed just a little down and cranky. I'm trying positive thinking and action to pull myself up and it seems to be working. I bet eating less and dropping some pounds would help a bit too :o
Well, hope this weekend is treating you nice and all. Bye!

Well, we had a moderately productive weekend here. I made some fabulous blueberry muffins and I got my honey-bunny to build me a squirrel-proof plant box for the deck. Now I can put all my plants outside without fear that the devil squirrels from hell will destroy them. Got a nice collection of kitchen herbs going.

Looks like it's good for other things too....hehe
In other news, we are about to embark on a serious potty-training mission. Failure will not be accepted. By the end of 3 days my son will be doing number two in the potty. Wish us good luck and god speed (we're going to need it)
Nice weather has precipitated a decline in sewing projects. Hard to make yourself sit at the sewing machine when it's 70 and sunny outside. None the less there are some May birthdays and Mother's Day coming up so I'm going to have to get going on it soon.
I've had a bit of thrifting luck and I think I'll be setting up an Etsy so I can share my bounty. Anyone have any tips on that? I'm hoping I'll be able to support my crafting habit with the proceeds....it may be slim crafting days ahead ;)

Whew! We had a crazy busy week. I promised to post pics of what we had been up to so here they are...

So what do you think? It only took 5 days of constant work to get it done. It does look much better now, especially with a 3 year old chef stirring up some dandelion gumbo on it :)
Got a few more things I'm working on, hopefully have them done soon for sharing. Toodles!

The crafty supplies haven't taken me hostage...yet. I think I may have even beaten them into submission. I'll have to see about posting what we've been up to here soon.
